Your data
Privacy policy
Effective October 17, 2026
Here we set out what Rates at Lion Coverage learns about you when you visit ratesatlioncoverage.com and fill in its linked quote form, what we do with that information, who we pass it to, and what choices you have.
Information you enter
Our quote form covers you, the cars in your household and your record as a driver. How much you share depends on how far you get, but it can include your name, birth date, marital status, phone, email, street address and ZIP, vehicle details, who insures you now, and any past accidents, claims or violations. Each question can be skipped, though skipping key ones may leave us unable to match you with a partner.
Data gathered when you browse
Each page request leaves the usual technical trail with our hosting and security providers: IP address, browser and device type, which pages were opened, the referring page, and a timestamp. From the IP address we estimate roughly where you are, which lets us show material relevant to your state.
Cookies and similar tools
Cookies and related browser storage let the form remember your answers as you move between steps, show us how people move around the site, and tell us which ads sent them here. Your browser lets you block or wipe cookies, but the form might not work as it should if you do.
Who gets your information
Submitting the quote form sends what you entered to licensed insurance carriers and agencies, and to marketing partners. They use what you send to calculate quotes and then contact you about insurance. That transfer is the whole point of the service, and it is also what pays for it.
Outside vendors that work for us (site hosting, messaging, analytics, fraud screening and form handling) get the information they need to do their jobs. The law may require us to release information, and we may also do so to protect rights, property or safety. From the moment a partner holds your details, its privacy policy governs them, and we have no control over how long the partner retains them, what marketing it sends you or who else it shares them with.
Calls, texts and the consent you give
Accepting the consent language shown with the quote form, then submitting, gives the companies listed in that language permission to call and text the number you entered. These calls and texts may use an automatic telephone dialing system or an artificial or prerecorded voice. They may come through even if the number is on a state do-not-call list or the National Do Not Call Registry. Agreeing is never a condition of buying any goods or services. Messages arrive at varying frequency, and your mobile plan's message and data rates may apply.
You may take back your consent at any point: reply STOP to a text, tell the caller, or write to us via the contact page. Taking it back with us does not affect consent already given to partners you were matched with, so reach out to those partners separately to stop hearing from them.
Retention
Quote submissions are held only for as long as the purposes in this policy, plus any legal or record-keeping duties, require. After that we erase them or remove whatever could identify you. We keep server logs for a shorter period.
Your rights over your data
Where you live may give you the right to see the personal information we hold about you, receive a copy, ask for corrections or deletion, and say no to its sale or to its use for targeted advertising. California law gives its residents these rights, and a growing number of other states grant similar ones. Send your request through the contact page, naming the right you want to use. Using a right will never change how we treat you.
People under 18
This website is meant for grown-ups. We do not knowingly collect data about anyone below the age of 18.
Security
We protect the information we hold with reasonable safeguards. Even so, no site or database can be made completely secure, and we can't guarantee that a breach will never happen.
Updates to this policy
When this policy changes, the revised text will appear on this page and the date shown above will change to match.
