About us

Collecting car insurance quotes the usual way means typing your details into one insurer's website after another. Rates at Lion Coverage exists to save you that repetition. You fill in a single short questionnaire covering the car, its drivers and the coverage you want, and we forward it to insurance carriers and agencies with a license for your state. Any price that comes back is theirs, and whether you act on it is entirely up to you.

What we are not

We aren't an insurer, and we don't act as an agent or broker either. Rates, application decisions, policy paperwork and claim payments all belong to the licensed company you pick, and if you buy coverage, your agreement is with that company alone.

How we make money

Using the site is free. Insurance and marketing partners pay us whenever we connect them with someone who might become a customer. That arrangement can affect which partners you're paired with and the order they're shown in. It has no effect on the price a partner quotes, and choosing a pricier policy doesn't earn us a bigger fee.

Our network doesn't include every insurer, and some companies never take part in comparison sites, so certain prices simply won't come to you through us.

State rules shape your quotes

Minimum coverage requirements, the handling of injury claims and the list of factors an insurer may consider all change from state to state. That alone can put two drivers with nearly identical records far apart on price.
