Car insurance, compared
Check what other insurers would charge to cover your car.
Two companies can look at the same driver and land on very different prices. Begin with your ZIP code, get through a handful of quick questions about the vehicle and how you drive, and see which licensed carriers and agencies near you are ready to put a number on it.
There's no fee, and seeing quotes never locks you into anything.
-
No charge
Partners fund the site, so you never pay to use it.
-
No obligation
Read what arrives, then act on it or ignore it. Your call.
-
Licensed providers
Every quote is from a carrier or agency licensed in your state.
The process
Three steps, a few minutes
Nothing to print, nobody to phone, and no fee at any point.
-
Start with your ZIP
Rules differ from one state to the next and prices follow local conditions, which is why we begin with where the car lives.
-
Tell us about the car and its drivers
A short run of questions covers the vehicle, the people behind the wheel, recent tickets or claims, and how much protection you're after.
-
Review your matches
Carriers and agencies licensed to serve your area can come back with quotes. Take your time with them; whether you go further is up to you.
Good to have on hand
Nothing here is mandatory, but having it nearby speeds things up.
- Make, model and model year for each car you'd like insured
- Names and birth dates for everyone who drives it
- Any accidents, tickets or claims in recent years
- Your current policy, if there is one, so the comparison is fair
Our part, and the insurer's

- Keeping comparison free, paid for by partner fees
- Naming the partners who got your details, any time you ask
What insurers handle
- Pricing, underwriting and issuing policies

- Claims, billing, renewals and policy changes
Questions
Before you compare
Quick answers to what people usually want to know first.
Is Rates at Lion Coverage an insurance company?
No. This is a comparison website. We don't sell, underwrite or issue coverage, and we aren't an agent or a broker. Quotes, and any policy you buy, come from licensed carriers and agencies.
Why do insurers quote different prices for the same driver?
Every company has its own rating formula and decides for itself how much your car, record, address and coverage choices count. A figure that seems steep at one insurer can come in lower elsewhere, and moving, changing cars or an old ticket dropping off can reshuffle the order again.
What happens after I submit the quote form?
We pass your answers to insurance carriers, agencies and marketing partners. They may reach out by phone, text or email about quotes, in line with the consent wording on the form and our privacy policy.
Does it cost anything?
No. Partners pay us for introductions. That money can affect which partners you're connected with, but it never changes what a partner charges you.
Do I have to buy a policy?
No. You can look, ask questions and still stay with your current insurer. If you do buy, your contract is with the insurer, not with us.
Will I get the lowest rate I see advertised?
Maybe not. Advertised prices and discounts go to drivers who qualify for them, and what's on offer varies by state and by company.
